While on our Family vacation with the kids last week we decided to get in a little Tennessee Pickin'.
This is just one of the shops that we stopped at and it was my favorite.
We did find that a lot of them were overpriced.
But we also did find a few good deals.
Below are just a few of the images I snapped at this store.
I Love the way all of these ball jars and butter churns looked all lined up. Although I'm pretty sure the churns are reproduction (as most of this booths stuff was), it was still a great place to get things that you wanted to decorate your home with if you didn't mind reproductions. And sometimes I don't.
Did love this old radio, but it was a bit pricey.
Wanted this chicken feeder, but wasn't sure what I would have done with it.
And sometimes you just see some bizarre things. Talk about a hand on your bum! Not sure why you would want this in your house but every person to himself.
Loved this old Radio as well!
And finally I wanted to take all of these old feed sacks home. But again wasn't sure what I would have done with them. They were made out of paper.
NOW.....Here are my finds that I did take home.
This was a booklet that I just fell in love with.
It had such vivid pictures for it's age.
A grouping of the things I bought.
Vintage stamp pads. Did you remember that this is what stamp pads used to look like?
And who remembers these? The old address and phone number indexes? LOVE!
Can't wait to get my mixed media fingers on this and make it into some scrappy goodness!
And Loved these. Old Player Piano reels. I loved the labels on the outside of the boxes.
And here is some sheet music advertising. Love this for mixed media!
and Trent snagged these old bottles. One is an old clorox bottle with cap and the other is the coke bottle with vintage label.
Hope you enjoyed our Tennessee Pickin' trip.
Don't forget even when you are on vacation, stop along the way and see what treasures you can find.
Happy Pickin'

That is one of my husband's and I's favorite things is going to antique stores. Mostly we just look but find a few bargains here and there. I would have wanted that green chicken feeder too. I have seen them planted with the tiny Johnny Jump Up pansies in the holes and it looks so cute.
ReplyDeleteAwww I bet that would be cute. I know, the more I think about it the more I wished i'd have snatched it up! oh well, when I see another one I'm definitely going to grab it!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great trip. I love that chicken feeder too, but I wouldn't know what to do with it either! I love the vintage pictures. Thanks so much for linking up to Share the Love Wednesday!
